RESTORATIVE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

October 18-20, 2019

with Farrah Forsyth
SCHEDULE Friday: 7-9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 12:30-3:30 & 6-8 PM

Most of us lead lives that reinforce working at very rapid pace and then we collapse in exhaustion. We have very few habits that encourage balance between these two extremes. In Restorative yoga we focus on “being” rather than “doing.” Our bodies know how to relax and they know how to heal themselves. Restorative yoga is about giving our bodies time and creating the conditions for relaxation and healing to occur.
To teach Restorative yoga we must first learn the practice of Restorative yoga. In this training you will learn to embody and lead restorative poses, as well as techniques for guiding deep relaxation and stillness. You will gain the ability and confidence to provide your students with the much needed relief they need from the stress of their busy lives. By offering your students this gift of intense rest, they will discover more energy for family, work and creativity.
What it will cover:
Anatomy, physiology and the benefits of Restorative yoga
Using props to facilitate deep relaxation
Understanding the nervous system’s role in stress response
Foundations for building a restorative practice for private and group classes
Sequencing classes towards a specific anatomical focus or aliment
Appropriate pranayama and tools for a restful practice
What you will receive:
Certificate of Completion
12 Hours of CEU hours through Yoga Alliance
Restorative Training Manual
Opportunities to practice teach with the instructor
This training is open to yoga teachers and serious students from all styles.

About Farrah: Farrah (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) began her love and devotion to yoga 15 years ago leading her to become a certified teacher in the Hatha tradition in 2006. She has continued her education with studies in Vinyasa, Restorative, and Nidra. Farrah’s teaching provides a calm and safe space to explore, recharge, and heal deeply from within. She encourages students to always honor their body in the moment and to make the practice their own. She is known for her soothing voice and ending her classes with relaxing guided meditation. Her personal practice has seen her through many of life’s opportunities from injury to grief, as well as defining dedication, patience, and loving with all of her being. Her commitment to this practice inspires her to continuously expand her knowledge through informal life experiences presented daily, as well as formal opportunities such as trainings and endless self study, deepening her desire to assist others in finding a happier and healthier well-being on and off the mat.

Yoga Junction’s 200-hour Teacher Training was beautifully organized and well-taught by a variety of experts; it allowed me to deepen my thought, practice and overall skills much beyond my expectations. Thank you for offering such an amazing experience.

Completing the teacher training at Yoga Junction was a life-changing experience for me. I learned much more about yoga and myself than I ever anticipated. I am very grateful to Melissa and Carey and all of the wonderful teachers and students who were part of this training.
